I had the first juice of my juice diet today, and it was actually quite scrumptious. Here’s what my recipe consisted of:
- 4 leaves of Kale
- 4 strawberries
- 2 stalks of Celery
- 2 Carrots
- 1 Apple
- small piece of Ginger root
The Kale makes the drink a forest-y green color but don’t let that scare you! My boyfriend (who is the one who suggested this whole diet) was really put off by it. I, however, enjoyed the taste a great deal more than I had anticipated. I’m excited about the idea of juicing because it’ a fantastic way to get a ton of micro-nutrients in all at once. It would be difficult and time-consuming to eat the amount of raw fruits and veggies that would equal what you’re drinking, which makes it ideal for those who are trying to up their 5 servings a day.
I’m going to try to start taking pictures of my juices, before and after, to give you all a better idea of what I’m doing and what it looks like. I meant to take a picture today but I ran out of time :/ Also - if you’re interested in trying some sort of juicing regiment of your own I’d recommend the Jack LaLanne juicer I have. It’s about $130 bucks, but it’s one of the best juicers on the market that’s actually affordable. As much as I’d like to have one, there is no way in hell I can afford to spend $300-$500 on a juicer.
Happy Juicing.

twenty minutes after you’ve shown up at work the rumbling in your stomach makes you seriously regret eating only an apple for breakfast. And just as you’re having this realization, kicking yourself in the ass (which sadly enough is doable because of it’s size - hence only an apple this morning), Mommy knocks on the door and greets you with a whole-wheat bagel filled with turkey sausage, egg whites, and low-fat cheese.
My grin turned as wide as each half of bagel.
God bless the mother’s intuition.
